Welcome to the Experience Easter site

Easter is the most important Christian festival and the one celebrated with the most joy.

For this reason the Diocese of Gloucester launched Experience Easter in 2007 as a way of supporting local churches in sharing the message of Easter with their communities.

We want to make the most of Easter as a time for sharing the good news that Jesus is alive and invites everyone to find fullness of life in him.

The vision of Experience Easter is to provide resources and ideas to help churches do this through:
  • sharing the story of Holy Week and Easter in creative ways with all ages
  • building relationships with the community and inviting them to share our Easter journey

  • providing ways to publicly celebrate the coming of Easter
Working together, increasing numbers of local churches are finding that Experience Easter helps them share the heart of the Christian story with confidence.
In support of this vision the resources we offer are:

Experience Easter with Children (see tab on the right) is a hugely popular scheme in which churches build six interactive stations to help immerse children in the events leading up to Easter Sunday.

Experience Easter Posters and Invitations are designed to complement the other resources, using the Experience Easter banner as a way of drawing together and publicising local services and events and inviting the wider community to take part.
Further details about how you can order these can be found by clicking on the links below.

Resourcing Easter (see tab on the right) provides themed and creative ways to engage people with the resurrection through worship and activities.

Eggventure beads (see tab on the right) are a fun way for children to learn more about the Easter story. The egg shaped container has a selection of beads which are gradually put together to make a bracelet.
